Gus David Oppermann V

David has handled matters involving disputes in contracts, major oil and gas casualty matters, maritime casualties, insurance coverage disputes and the defense of numerous Jones Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, and maritime personal injury cases. David has actively advised clients regarding partnerships, wills and trusts. David has practiced in State and Federal Courts throughout Texas and Louisiana and is admitted to practice law in all State and Federal Courts in both states. David has represented clients in transportation, environmental, and mass tort litigation in both Texas and Louisiana and has advised both primary and excess carriers on insurance coverage matters.

David was born in Galveston, Texas and received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. David also received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. David is a former member of the faculty of the University of Phoenix where he taught Business Law and other related courses. He is admitted to the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, Ninth and Eleventh Districts, the Supreme Court of the United States, and is a member of numerous community and industry-related organizations.

David is an Eagle Scout. David and his family are members of St. Anne's Catholic Community in Houston.
